Tips for Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up Times from Principal Fogarty

Century Families,

Please use extra caution on Century roads and in the parking lot during drop-off and pick-up times. Drivers picking up or dropping off students should:
  • Form a single file line of cars on the main entrance road, around the main circle, and on the main exit road. All cars should park along the curb closest to the parking lots or school.
  • Pull forward as far around the main circle as possible. If the main circle is clear of cars, please drive around the main circle and park along the exit road closest to the staff parking lot. If cars are present, park as close as you can to the vehicle in front of you as far around the main circle as possible.
  • Do not block the cross streets to enter the student or staff parking lots or park on the parking lot through streets while you are waiting for your student.
  • Do not park along the roads along or behind the stadium and track.
At all times, pay close attention to the presence and movement of students and cars. Pick-up and drop-off can be a stressful time if we allow it to be. Overall, I continue to be impressed with the orderly nature of all that use our parking lot and roads. Congestion can lead to frustration, which can lead to rash decisions. At Century, this is a very, very rare occurrence and I thank you very much for your continued patience and focus on safety.

Much appreciation,
Chris Fogarty
Principal
