ACT February 25 For All Juniors

On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, all juniors will have the opportunity to take the ACT for free at school. This test costs families up to $68 when taken on a national testing date, so taking advantage of this free opportunity is highly recommended. Seniors who did not take the ACT last year on the school testing day are also eligible, and seniors who applied to RCTC for next year can come to the library lab to take the Accuplacer that morning. Ninth and tenth grade students do not report to school next Tuesday.

Juniors should have already completed bubbling in their ACT pre-administration information; if a student plans to take the ACT and has not yet filled in this information they can stop by through Monday in the CD office to complete it  Students must report to school no later than 7:30 a.m. on test day.  Students who arrive after the bell will not be allowed to test.  Students should bring with them several number 2 pencils and an ACT approved calculator and their school or state ID. Food will not be allowed in testing rooms.  Water bottles are allowed.  Phones will also not be allowed in the test rooms and should be left at home for the day.  Any violation of these rules could result in your student being disqualified from testing and the test being invalidated.

Winter Musical Matilda the Musical

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other's lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!

Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and an unforgettable star turn for a young actress, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

Special ACT Testing School Day on February 25

On Tuesday, February 25 Century will be offering the ACT to all juniors as well as to any senior who did not take it last year and now wishes to take it. Some seniors will also report to Century to complete the Accuplacer, the Minnesota State system's placement exam. Students not taking an exam on February 25 are not expected to report to school that day.

On Friday, February 14th during first and second period, all 11th graders must report to the cafeteria for pre-bubbling in preparation for the ACT.  It takes approximately 60-75 minutes to complete so it is very important for students to report promptly at 7:40 a.m.  Teachers are aware of this and students will be marked excused in Skyward.  Students should bring with them a number two pencil.  Mechanical pencils will not work.  ACT allows students to select four post-secondary schools to send their results to for free.  We recommend students select four schools.  There is a fee for sending results to colleges at a later date.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, all 11th graders at Century will take the ACT.  Students must report to school no later than 7:30 a.m. on test day.  Students who arrive after testing has begun will not be allowed to test.  Students should bring with them several number 2 pencils and an ACT approved calculator. Food will not be allowed in testing rooms.  Water bottles are allowed.  Phones will also not be allowed in the test rooms.  Any violation of these rules could result in your student being disqualified from testing and the test being invalidated.

If you have questions about testing activities please contact Kasandra Sosoupke at 507-328-5051.
