CHS Graduation

May 11, 2021

Dear Century High School Class of 2021 Families:

We know that you and your senior are anxiously awaiting news of graduation plans. Today, we are pleased to share our graduation plans with you.

Last week, Governor Walz announced that the State of Minnesota will be relaxing indoor restrictions, beginning May 28.  Shortly after this announcement was made, school districts received a second communication from the Minnesota Department of Education that included many continued restrictions that are specific to schools, including protocols for graduation ceremonies following the MDE Safe Learning Plan guidance for indoor venues .  Since then, we have been working to determine what we can safely provide for a graduation ceremony while following these guidelines.

Prior to Governor Walz’s announcement last week, we had been planning to host three separate graduation ceremonies on June 5 and, following the state’s protocols for graduation, had planned to allow two guests per student.  Under the newly-revised protocols for graduation ceremonies, we will continue to offer three graduation ceremonies on June 5.  However, we are now able to allow up to six (6) guests per student.

Graduations will be held at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m., on June 5, at Century High School, in the main gym. Students will be able to choose which ceremony they wish to attend and we will be able to allow up to 150 students per ceremony.  All graduates are to show up 30 minutes prior to their assigned ceremony.

The link below is for students to sign up for the graduation ceremony using Sign-up Genius.  Each ceremony will be capped at 150 graduates and students can use the link to sign up, with their friends, on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline for signing up is May 18, 2021.

All three events will be live-streamed.  We will continue to share information about graduation as we finalize our plans and will be sure to notify you of any changes made as we monitor and adjust within the MDE Safe Learning Plan guidelines.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work to provide the best graduation experience possible for the class of 2021.  We look forward to celebrating graduation with our seniors and their friends and families!

Here’s what we need from graduating seniors and families by May 18th.

  1. Go into the link below to sign up for the ceremony you would like to attend.
  2. Completely fill out the form. Each graduate can have up to 6 guests. Enter the names of each guest and any physical accommodations that we need to be aware of for seating purposes.
